Option Chain Indicator
|
Dear Sir,
I have pulled nifty option chain data from nse website (new) using following link in Excel.
https://www.nseindia.com/api/option-chain-indices?symbol=NIFTY
There are 2 columns in the table totalbuyquantity and totalsellquantity both on call and put side.
I am unable to understand the meaning of these two columns. To my understanding when one contract is sold it is simultaneously bought by someone and that contributes to increase in open interest. Hence total buy should be equal to total sold quantity, but in the data downloaded the two are not the same at many places.
Also there are 2 more columns askquantity and bidquantity which I am unable to interpret. If you can kindly shed some light on this data I shall be obliged.
