KeymasterSuppose FIIs sold calls today worth 100 crores. So today index options data of FIIs will show -100 crores. If tomorrow they cover their shorts at the same price (suppose), will index options data show +100 crores or ‘zero’ because no new positions are created?
Will your answer remain same if we talk about index futures in the above query?
Thanks and Regards

KeymasterNitin Sir,
I see difference between when I pull report participant wise open interest and report FPI Derivative Trades from NSDL website.
for e.g.
from participant wise open interest
Net OI Index Options (FII) = -112268From https://www.fpi.nsdl.co.in/web/Reports/Archive.aspx\
Net Contracts are Buy:51166102, Sell: 51100605 Net =
-65,497Can you please help with this difference

KeymasterDear All,
It has been observed that FII is selling/shorting on (mostly each Friday or beginning of weekly/monthly expiry) and buying/short-covering at each Thursday of the Ending of weekly/monthly expiry.
Has any body observed as per FII data details available on NSE or NSDL??
Base on index movement in the week either FII buy or short and keep rotating their fund with profit booking..!!
Do confirm above observation is in line of different??
Thanks.

KeymasterTo
Stories shubham
if fii sold 1st day and next day they buy same amount then last day data will be positive..Currently FIIs are doing this type of activity to mislead retail investor..from starting they sell and at the end of the month they start buying to show that they are bulish on the market..
Nitin Sir already make a video on this topic. So we should analyse the data longer frame to crack big players trick..
Hope you understand
thank you -

KeymasterI think instead of confirming its short covering or Long Liquidation from Participate wise OI data, we should correlate it with price movement.
This data definitely has strong correlation with Price and we just need to identify its at Long Side or Short Side. -

Keymaster1st day the amount will appear in Gross Sell amount. The net amount depends on their net buy sell position that day. The net amount can be +500 Cr if they were active in buying. The same logic applies the day on which they offloaded their position.
