Wrong Stock Symbol Details in Equity Reports can hamper the Technical Analysis of an investor or trader. In a large number of reports available on the NSE website, the investors and traders find that the name or the symbol of the stock are not mentioned in the reports instead a numerical number is mentioned. In this video, I have explained, how to fix this anomaly so that we can complete our analysis.

As a first step, you need to download the list of securities active on the BSE or Bombay Stock Exchange. You can download this list. Now, you can open this list and also open the report downloaded from the NSE website like a daily volatility report. In this report, the security code is mentioned instead of the stock symbol or stock name. Now, with the help of a Vlookup command in the excel, you can easily map the stock symbol against each security code.

The stock symbol that already exists in the report will show N/A value against vlookup command and you can delete them. By following these simple steps, you can easily replace the security code with the stock symbol.
