Today Morning Ajmal Kasab Hanged in Pune’s Yerwada Jail. The kind of secrecy being maintained & swift execution reminded me of American operation to kill Osama Bin Laden. In the Indian History, this is 1st of its kind operation executed in American Style. Even Indian media was clueless till Ajmal Kasab was hanged. Hats off to Government of India for perfect execution.
I read several media reports, where in media termed it as an event to rejoice. I beg to disagree becoz it will be insult to victims of 26/11 Mumbai Attacks. I would rather say that lone survivor of terror attacks is brought to justice. The hanging of Kasab will send strong signal across the world that India will not tolerate any kind of terrorist activity on her land.
At the same time, it is very important to note “The Timing of Kasab’s Hanging”. Parliament session is beginning from tomorrow. Govt knew that it will have tough time to survive the winter session of Parliament. Like Abhimanyu, Govt is completely surrounded by corruption charges, opposition to FDI, Inflation, Capping on LPG Subsidy and moreover Mamta Banerjee will bring “No Confidence Motion” tomorrow. Kasab’s Hanging has diverted attention from all these issues specially corruption. Govt has claimed big psychological victory over opposition by hanging Kasab.
Thirdly Gujarat elections is round the corner, Hanging of Kasab will further polarize the votes in favor of congress. Now Narendra Modi will have tough time to protect his hold on Gujarat. Congress will try to gain maximum mileage from Kasab’s Hanging. Any adverse or weak result in Gujarat for Narendra Modi will severely impact his chances of becoming PM in 2014 General Elections.
Therefore Government has hit 3 birds from 1 stone by hanging Kasab
1. Sending strong signal against terrorism
2. Diverting attention from Current Issues like FDI, Corruption etc
3. Weakening position of Narendra Modi in Gujarat
Everything is fair in Love, War and Politics. Hats off to Managers of Congress for putting this spectacular piece of politics in place.
For a common man, Kasab’s hanging is tribute to victims of 26/11 Mumbai attack. May the soul of Mumbai attack victims RIP.

By hanging kasaab India proved to be great democratic country by diplomatic way adopting judicial process even for hard core terrorist but cann’t be compared with America because it attacked Laden in Pakistan and thrown his body in sea, whereas kasaab was in Indian custody , and hanged after 4 years.It would have been better if pending mercy appeals would have been decided at once.
